About Us
The Motley Otters is an imaginative, on-demand activity space designed especially for children aged 4 to 8. Rooted in the belief that childhood should be joyful, curious, and unplugged, we offer a rotating set of hands-on experiences across movement, creativity, storytelling, and free play.
Our approach is modular, multisensory, and child-led — encouraging kids to explore at their own pace while developing social, emotional, and physical confidence. Every hour at The Motley Otters brings something new, guided by warm facilitators who know how to make learning feel like fun.
We’re not a daycare, a classroom, or a tuition center. We’re a cozy little world where kids can simply be — creative, silly, curious, wild, and wonderfully themselves.

Our Story
The Motley Otters was first imagined in an Executive MBA classroom, during an entrepreneurship course where Bharati had to present a real-world problem that had been quietly bothering her since her twins turned 3 — the lack of truly engaging, screen-free spaces where young children could play, explore, and learn on their terms.
With a demanding work schedule, her dependence on support staff was high, and while they were all loving and nurturing, she felt that her children were not getting the avenues to explore, engage, and just be themselves.
What started as a class assignment quickly turned into a calling.
Bharati brought the idea to Trishika, a fellow mother equally eager to find more meaningful alternatives to the overstimulating, underwhelming activity options available for their kids. Their conversations — full of hope, skepticism, laughter, and dreams — gave shape to something real.
What they wanted didn’t exist. So they built it themselves.
The Motley Otters is the result of that journey: a warm, welcoming space for curious little humans to move, create, question, and connect without ever needing a screen. Every module, every corner is designed to spark wonder and make kids feel free to be exactly who they are.
We believe that play is essential. And it should feel like magic.
